David Bowie Night at Numbers Nightclub
On January 6, 2018, in memorial of the passing of the great David Bowie, Numbers, the goth night club, in Houston hosted a David Bowie night. I had a fantastic time at David Bowie Night at Numbers Nightclub.
The club opened the night with a public screening of the cult classic Labyrinth, starring David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly. Folks even danced together during the ballroom scene. If somehow you’ve missed seeing this movie, it really is a must watch for the faire going set. You can find it on Amazon in Blu Ray here: http://amzn.to/2CCeK0f (affiliate link).
After the movie, Numbers played all David Bowie music. Music videos played on the screens while everybody danced. Numbers has made improvements to their sound and laser systems. It was quite the show. They played one of my all time favorite songs, I’m Afraid of Americans. Love me some Bowie and Reznor together.
Growing up I’d hear songs that resonated with me in a way that no other songs did. Much of the time I’d find out that the songs were David Bowie songs that I just hadn’t heard yet. The Hero’s cover in Moulin Rouge especially comes to mind.
